Nils Amadeus Lange (*1989 Cologne) is an artist, performer and lecturer based in Zurich. He studied theatre at the Bern University of the Arts, where he completed his Bachelor and Master in Scenic Arts Practice. His work is situated in the field of performance and choreography and often engages with existing works, historical material and cultural narratives, which he revisits and reinterprets through performance. His works have been presented internationally at institutions including Kunsthalle Basel, Kunsthalle Zürich, Kunsthalle Bern, Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, Arsenic Lausanne, Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst Zürich, Istituto Svizzero Rome and Belvedere 21 Vienna. He has received several awards and grants, including the Swiss Art Award, as well as grants from the City of Zurich and the Canton of Zurich. He lives and works in Zurich and Basel.
